- Nice group warm up before the race.
- Very scenic - beautiful fall foliage.
- Amazing post race goodie bag - the best I've had!
- The results are posted online very shortly after the race.
- They gave out really ugly orange gloves as part of the race kit. I'd much prefer a more neutral colour.
- The route can get narrow at times.
This was my first Toronto Women's run and I will definitely be back for more.
I ran this race on Saturday. It was a glorious day for a run. At one point during the run, the wind blew and leaves fell from the trees onto me as a ran. It's at times like that that you feel happy to be running. I didn't mind the race kit. I loved the gloves. So practical. I don't need another ill fitting shirt. The post race food was amazing. Also love having a bit of Starbucks coffee pre and post run. I also got a nice little massage treatment at a sponsor tent.
I have run several of these runs and every time I enjoy myself. I enjoy the camaraderie, the location and generally everything about this race.
I ran the 5k and found it to be a competitive event. For example, for my AG, 45-49 there were 6 runners who did sub-24:00!
The race kit was okay (photo: http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5597/14997499853_735c8ee82f.jpg) but the post-race food bag and swag were outstanding (photo: http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3952/15437609877_3f12bc626a_c.jpg).
I ran the Half last Sunday May 25th. What a great day put on by a super organized race director. The warm up led by GoodLife for women presenting sponsor (good to see them get involved) Fitness was great the free swag was great, the medals rocked, the shirts were amazing and the sun was shining all day for a fabulous event all around
Ran this race in 2012 it was a cold and rainy day....I think that is what made me run so fast and place 2nd in my age group in the 8k. Loved that I received a Plaque instead of another medal. Great race love running in Sunnybrook. I would run this race again thou wished it was earlier like Sept.
This is my second time participating in the Toronto Women's Run Series and it does not disappoint! The atmosphere is phenomenal even in the cold and rainy weather. A run I would recommend to all women, especially first time runners. The gloves in the race kit were an amazing touch.
This was a great race with really friendly people. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 bananas is that there was no seeding, so everyone took off at once and on a narrow road/path, it was at times very tricky to pass people. Would definitely do it again though, something really fun and supportive about an all women's event. My daughter ran her first 5k here too and had a great time.
This was my first time doing the Toronto Women's Run. Considering how bad the weather was, the turn out was great. I didn't find the loops were marked as well as they should have been. Unfortunately during my 8k loop there was some confusion and I ended up doing an extra 3k loop which had me finish in a much later time than I anticipated.
I understand that the route had to be changed due some unforeseen cicumstances but I just found it be slighly confusing. Maybe it was just me?
I ran the 8km yesterday and I have to say the Toronto Women's Run series are my favourites races. Very well organized with excellent race kits. I'm already signed up for the half marathon in May 2013!
All of the Toronto Women's Runs, including the Half, are fantastic. Extremely well organized, and a lot of fun. Swag and food are really good. I do not miss any of these runs (if I can help it).
I really liked this race, I did the 8k in October, and also the 5k in August. It's really interesting to see the difference between a mixed field and all-womens! There is so much positive energy and a LOT of really fast runners! Love the firefighter's station!
Toronto Women's Runs are amazing. The race kit pick-up was very organized. The volunteers are amazing. My only issue would be with the chocolate...the past two runs the chocolate bars have been stale...I think if Cadbury is going to be listed as a sponsor the chocolate should at least be fresh!
I would run this race but don't want to shave my legs! I do hear fantastic feedback however from the ladies, especially the firefighter's water station...
