Well can you really criticize an event that only cost $20? I have been on a budget and am trying to stay under $35 ( a challenge in Toronto, as more and more runs are costing a ridiculous amount.) For that reason alone I am giving 4 bananas.Keep it affordable. .For %20 that still got you juice , bananas and pizza and a shirt, and best of all FREE PARKING and even medals and prizes for winners.
But try to find the start line..look for the chalk on the pavement that says, START!!!

A friend had put together a team in her building and asked if I wanted to sponsor. Since it was a good cause, I said yes then decided to multi task and run the 5k race as well. I discovered it was chipped (gun time) when I saw my friend morning of the race (she picked up my race kit). It was a hot day so we waited for the start of the race in the shade. Nice route with lots of shade on the way up but not so much on the return so heat/humidity took a toll on my performance. There was a bit of a bottleneck when I got close to the finish line but walkers were nice to move aside for me to go through the finish line. I did fairly well (30 min and change) but felt bad for the people who took much longer as it was really hot/humid. Water stations were well mannered and crowd support was good considering it was mostly a fundraising race. I LOVED the food after the race. In addition to the usual banana we got pizza, yogurt! Nice change from the usual bagel and chocolate chip cookies. I will probably do this one again as it works well in my training schedule and it is for a good cause.

Pretty good run. I pre-registered online, $20 was cheap for the 5km run but when I got to metro hall they couldn't find my name or my friends name and sent me on a wild goose chase to fill out a new form. Pretty good race, it wasn't nice starting off on a corner at the beginning of a race when it's still congested. At the end a lot of runners got sick from the heat and what not, myself included and the finish line was so unorganized and congested I hopped the ropes at the end to be sick and was yelled at by 5 other volunteers to stay in "an orderly fashion while handing in your race chips" They ran out of gatorade at the end too which wasn't nice. T-shirts are cotton and they lost my friends official time. It was a very unorganized run but a pretty good course. Wouldn't do it again despite the cheap price. Oh and good food at the end including pizza! yum!
