I did the 10k race and really enjoyed it. This is a great race and sadly I think it was overlooked this year. The turnout was small, but the spirit was great! We did twice around Bronte Creek park and it was surprisingly challenging. The finisher medal was awesome and a really nice addition to my collection.
The only issue with the race was the disorganization around the medals for age class. Despite the fact that I entered my demographic information when I signed up for the race, the information was not there when I finished. This lead to confusion regarding placement and in speaking with the people I ran with, when they checked the final times online, they did not correspond with the places awarded and announced at the event. This is probably a reflection of the company responsible for timing, not the event organizers.
If you are looking for a gem of a race, I recommend doing this race!
What a fantastic day! The course was well planned, the registration was easy and well organized, finishing medals for every participant (really nice ones too!) giveaways, and pizza and massages at the finish. Not to mention a beautiful Provincial Park setting, all in support of Breast Cancer Support Services. Could you really ask for anything more? I'm definitely going to run this one again next year!
This race was a last minute decision for me so I signed up the day of the race without any problem. They had a great warm up session at the start with lot's of enthusiasim. I did the 10k through Bronte Provincial park which was a little more challenging than I thought. There were plenty of water stations along the route and the announcer did a great job keeping everyone updated throughout the race and especially when someone finished. The finisher medals were great and loved the pizza slices at the end. The only issue I have is since maybe I was a last minute walk up, my name was missed on the finisher list. They handed out extra medals for the top finishers in each age category which was nice. This was a good fun race and all for a good cause.
This race was a little disappointing - the weather didn't help but it lacked the usual atmosphere surrounding a race. Some great music and warm ups would have helped.
