This will be my 5th year doing the hustle. Yes, I typed that. I came across this run by chance on a 3 day get away and suggested to my running buddy. We come up every year now from Ottawa. Why?
The race is well organised.
The route - we only do the 5km mind you - is along the lake shore.
The food! Coffee and muffins in the morning. Sugar cookie at the end and a HOT lunch for after.
The medal. Cute and unique.
Super swag. I am still wearing my coat from the first run I did.
A fun atmosphere and a night away in a lovely setting
The weather keeps you guessing - rain and snow and sun. All in 10 minutes.
And a great night awa
Great race-hope to do again in 2017

Loved this race - very well organized, everyone involved was super friendly and helpful, and went above and beyond to accommodate my special needs!
Great event, well organized.. beautiful medal, prizes, food... and volunteers were great!! I would consider attending this run every year!!
Great race, really well organised. Nothing to learn from other 'big' events.
Nice race. Very friendly runners. Love the costumes. Rolling hills make this half-marathon harder than it looks. Good race for someone who doesn't want to run with a large crowd. The only downside is the lack of people to cheer you along the way. Usually weather is still very good to run in northern Ontario at this time of the year.
To me a 5 bananas would be like perfect. This race was excellent and I definitely will be attending next year if possible. Really enjoyed talking with all the volunters working at this event.
Well organized. Everything you need at the aids stations : water, gatorade, gels, gummies. Beautiful course by the lake.
Well organized and lots of fun! Great swag and meals, venue was a bit too small but still ok.
This race is one of my most favorite. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. Pre and post race meals are great not to mention wonderful and varied registration gifts over the years. Totally worth running. Can't say enough about how well organized the race is. Kudos to organizers and volunteers.
Had a great time. The event is very well organized ahead of time to make it run as smoothly as possible. Everyone out on the course volunteering are friendly and have the drinks ready for you as you go by. Every year they come up with a useful and interesting gift in your goodie bag. Thanks to all the businesses in town who donate to the goodie bags and to make the lunch after healthy and hot.
Everyone here is really accommodating and the views of the lake during the run is fabulous!
Very enjoyable run. Well organized, fun, festive, great little community. Just the right size.
Will go again next year for sure!!
a small town with a great vision! have participated in this race for the last 4 yrs and each year it gets better. the organizers are organized! the course is well marked, with a few challenging areas and the after race food is yummy. have a take home gift that is NOT a t-shirt is priceless!!
Great running route, well marked distances.
Very organized group in charge of this event.
This was a well organized and very fun race. The volunteers were friendly and very encouraging. The route was really nice too, I loved going right along the water. I highly recommend this race.
The race is put on by a well organized enthusiastic group who are so appreciative of all the volunteers, sponsors and runners. The run is a great variation of flats and hills along the beautiful lake side. The route is well marked with encouraging signs and plenty of water stations. The race kit had lots of goodies and a great reflective waterproof jacket. Most runners/walkers show up in costume which makes for great entertainment. Can't wait to do it again next year.
Great volunteer support. The costumes are great to see and keep you motivated during the race. Love the fact that there is a Northern Ontario Boston Qualifier
Ran my first race ever at the 2014 Haunted Hustle and I loved it. Super well organized, a great welcome from organizers and volunteers makes me want to go back next year!
Awesome, well organized race! Would definitely do it again :) so many costumes, great post race meal, adorable medals!
fun run..having chocolate milk after a race is always a happy ending. Loop bags were also pretty good.
Always a great event -- terrific swag, the jacket was a nice change (we've got lots of shirts!), food was great, good route and lots of smiling faces. What's not to love?
The race was a great event! So much fun! The medals and jacket are awesome and the meal after was appreciated! Loved all the costumes!
My first official 10k race. Had a blast very well organized
Amazing people, awesome atmosphere.
I would recommend it to anyone who loves to run
Doing this again next year.
Very well organized. Great encouragement and support from the committee. Great costumes too
What an awesomely well organized race! All the meals, the tech jacket, the expo, the cookie and medal at the end were very much appreciated. Well done!
Great race well organized and great registration gift
Fun event! Well organized, wonderful volunteers, great route....Thank you to everyone involved.
It was the most well-organized race I have ever been to. It was easy to find parking, the race pick-up kit was the morning of the race was not stressful, it was awesome having indoor washrooms and a warm place to wait for the race, there were plenty of volunteers who knew what they were doing and were prepared along the route. They were also friendly and encouraging! There was an abundance of water stations and a porta-potty around the half-way point, which was a nice. The kilometers were well-marked and the sayings were hysterical. Also, receiving a running jacket was the best part (and an excellent goody bag)! The route was lovely and scenic, not boring and felt safe (lots of police along the route).
This event is a lot of fun. Lots of great costumes!
A great race with a personal touch that I would definately run again. Possibly the best race goodies I've ever received ( a REALLY nice backpack, a bag of Halloween treats, cliff bar, etc.) and volunteers were very friendly. Areas for improvement would include better signage in some areas of the race. A lonely run if you aren't part of the pack but the race volunteers will ensure that even the last runner has something to eat and feels special. Thank you for a great race!
Awesome race...well organized and participants from all over Ontario!!
Great fun! Beautiful lake-side run, fun costumes, well organized, small yet well-run. Can't wait. I'm a regular now.
Fun Halloween run -- lots of treats, prizes, food, costumes...
Course goes along picturesque northern lakeshore -- mostly flat with some rolling hills. Very enjoyable.
I don't have the luxury of many races to choose from in northern Ontario. The only full marathon I can attend is Sudbury (3.5hr drive). The Haileybury 1/2 marathon fits well into my schedule. Its my last race in my calendar season. I've done it 2 years in a row now. Hoping for 3.
When will you have a full marathon? I would sign up in a heartbeat, as soon as I heal from the current injury i have (Plantar Fasciitis) lol
Very well organized. Lots of time and effort put into this event so all participants have a great time. Food after the race is always very good. Lots of people come in costume and make it more interesting also! Always seem to get new and old racers each year. Goody bag is always a nice treat and lots of items included in. Very nice to be able to run/walk along the lake with the great view of the area. They also have great door prizes.
Would recommend the race to any one whether you are a walker or a runner.
Great event put on by a small community with all the feel of a larger race. Good variation of hills and flats. Excellent after race food and prizes!
Great race. Well organized. Good course. Friendly community. Fun event!
The race is well organized, the route is clearly laid out and it is great to see everyone running in their costumes.
Run for Fun
What a fun and well organized race! The costumes were hilarious and the fool was great. I did this one last year as well and will be there in 2013.
