I have ran this Marathon both years and plan on making it a yearly event till I can no longer run, It was my first marathon ever and it was a great event. I can not say how much support the little town of St Maries puts behind the athletes that participate all through out the morning they are cheering on and supporting. I recommend this race to all new marathoners, its flat and fast, and priced right.

Marathoner here!!!

The race was excellent. A very challenging course for me, but that was my fault for not training at all on any sort of dirt or rocky terrain and that is what most of this course is made of. If I would have trained differently, this course would have been amazing with the views and other apects of the race.

The St. Joe River race directors were amazing and did an excellent job. The course signs were awesome, the shirts and all medals were creative and amazing as well.

The only criticism I can give is I started in the early start marathon and even though it was stated that there would be aid stations at certain parts of the marathon, the aid stations did not start getting set up until the 8am starters started. The only thing I could see different is maybe letting the early start marathoners know that they would be on their own for the first hour and a half. Yes there was an occasional mobile aid cart come by but it was so sparse and unpredictable that you couldn't gage anything on where the aid stations would be.

The city is a great place and I love the people around the city and would recommend this race to anyone who asked about what marathons to do!

*Half Marathon Review*

Beautiful course. Although the first mile is primarily running along route 3, the majority of the run takes place on a quiet "country"(hard dirt packed) road, that winds through open farmland into a more woodsy area which is where the halfway marker is situated. Throughout this out and back 10 mile stretch there are constant mountain vistas, and even more unique, plenty of horse pastures. Around mile 10, one of the horses actually ran up to the edge of the field and stared at some of the runners before galloping off.

In regards to the St. Joe's race directors, I thought they all did a great job. Everything was intuitive and well coordinated, everything from the number of bathrooms to the packing of the goody bags.

I would definitely recommend this race to a friend.

Fantastic run! Great course! I loved the mile marker signs and all the little humor along the way. All the volunteers were supportive and great.
