I signed up just for the sparkly medal. Not chip-timed, but a (very!) fun run. It felt festive with many runners in holiday costumes and everyone seemed happy. Free smoothies, soup, hamburgers, hot dogs (with veg options!) and hot chocolate was welcome. There was a heated tent and the lines for the portapotties were short. Good run for a great cause, and a gentle way to ease into the holiday spirit.

Awesome race - best value, fabulous post race event, and in support of a significant cause. Lots of families, costumes, and music to get you in the festive spirit.

The course is a typical Sunnybrook 5k, with one water stop and a great post race party.

For the $25 early registration fee, I got one of the nicest medals in town, a veggie hot dog (burgers and back bacon were also options), hot chocolate, and tons of free samples from sponsors - delicious kale smoothie from B good restaurant food truck (great marketing!), clif bars, vector bars, and emergen-c. There were also great prizes for top runners, fundraisers, costumes, and a jelly bean count for kids. There were also options to buy a T-shirt or santa hat for a reasonable price that would go to the charity. The race website doesn't do justice to how cool this event is.

The price for this race is extremely accessible, and the post race event so great, it's easy to add an extra donation to the Salvation Army in honour of this great event.

This is my second year doing this with my kids and other friends. This kids love it - especially the giant. Inflated Salvation Army bell!? It's a very family friendly event with Timbits and hot chocolate, they liked hotdogs after their run and were. Thrilled senseless to get Lindt advent calendars. They even got to help give out the chocolate. Personallly I kind of like out and back races - it's fun to cheer the lead runners as they go by and wave to friends. Wonderful to have medals this year! The kids will be adamant about coming back again next year.

Great race to get pumped for the season. Race kits came with lots of appreciated goodies. Race course could of been a bit better. Didn't like running into oncoming runners. BBQ at 10:30am was a bit weird. Maybe have options for people that don't want to eat that heavy after a race.

great event. like to see chip timing next year, but the really big thing is that the bbq needs to include vegetarian options. please and thanks.

Hello we hope you come back...

Just so you know, we tried to get the live Reindeer, not allowed to have them, all kinds of by laws etc. Also, we cant serve rum, sorry, its a family event and first thing in the morning. The dry fit t-shirts would make this a fundraiser for the manufacturers, so again no go, but I will tell you that we are having a BBq this year and hoping to have some extra fun and the Toronto race is for The Gateway Men's Shelter and others in the community living in poverty. Every dollar will go directly to help feed and keep them warm this winter. If you want to wear santa suits, that would be fantastic.!!! Hope you come back. If you do, come say Hello, my name is Cindy and I work for The Gateway.

I did this run last year (2011). Good cause, good effort on behalf of a mostly volunteer organization, BUT, it's 5 years behind the times or more. Cotton shirts....out and back in a park....live reindeer and hot chocolate spiked with run would be a start....how about everyone wears a Santa suit too....thats fun....
