Such a great half. Enough hills to make it a challenge, but not annoying. The volunteers are AH-mazing. So friendly and full of positive energy. The 12:30 start time allows for travel or sleeping in. Race kit was great and I love the tech shirt. Medal is ok, a little boring, but nice that they engrave the distance on the back rather than just having the various distances listed on front. I will be doing this one again next year for sure. Peterborough is a great little town and this is a great little half.

My granddaughter challenged me to this race. I am excited that I did it with her as we both had a great time. Course was generally flat and great for first road run for 2016. The staff and volunteers fantastic. I am looking forward to doing this next year.

Fun race. Good atmosphere. Having the YMCA facility to use and wait in pre/post race is a great benefit. Volunteers were wonderful. Lots of prizes and random draws. If you are looking for a late Feb/early March race this is a great option.

The organizers and volunteers are very nice. Everything was well thought out. There were a lot of goodies in the race kit considering the size of the race. The subway sandwich was smaller than last year. Overall, a great race.

This is a well organized race with awesome volunteers! (I ran the half marathon)
Kit pickup - Can be done day before or morning of race. Kit is one of the better ones around with actual products (e.g. granola bar, builder bar, nachos & salsa, etc) - not like the "virtual" kits that other much larger races have gone to these days.
Loved the red with grey print long sleeve technical shirt for the half marathon this year!
Race day you get to wait pre and post race inside the warm YMCA (and you can use the showers after). Nice because you never know what weather Peterborough will have this time of year!
Race route is challenging for me (nice hill at lift locks!) but the volunteers are friendly and traffic is well controlled by police.
Lots of draw prizes and age group prizes!
This year they added a half of a half (10.55K) in addition to the half marathon, 5K and 1K kid's race. If you are driving in from out of town its nice that races don't start until 12:30pm (half marathon), 12:40pm (1/2 of 1/2), 12:50 5K.
Overall highly recommend for a Feb race with that great community feeling. Thanks to all the volunteers for an awesome experience!!

This was my first ever run! Back in 1995 actually and I ran a few more times too, I want everyone to be prepared for just about any weather. It was minus 30 in my first attempt so the cotton long johns were a bad idea! It's a fun community run that seems to have lost some of it's competitiveness but the indoor post-event venue is always appreciated.

I have not run here in over ten years but what I also liked was the late start time, so Toronto-area runners don't have to wake up so damm early! Watch for police speed checks on highway 115!

Could somebody tell me (like perhaps the race organisers for one) WHY this is so expensive? Please justify the $50, give us a "reason" to run this...

Very well organized race. Great venue at the Y. Nice course albeit challenging (with a couple of pretty steep hills). Good prizing (shoes and $25 gift voucher to first in each 5 year age category). Good start time to accommodate those from further afield.

The facility at the Y is warm and clean and there are showers available for after the race, so bring your towel...and run fast so you can get in first! :) My husband and son have run this race 3 times and I have run it twice. It's a good race for the end of February, though you can never be sure whether the roads will be snowy. The volunteers are wonderful and the age group prizes are good. The out and back course is definitely challenging, as there is a big hill in both directions. For some reason, there is a water station at the top of the hill. (By the time I get to the top, I am puffing and sputtering and would die choking, if I attempted to drink anything at that point!) As long as my son is at Trent, I will continue to run this race.

Fun race. Fairly low key. GREAT swag. Course is pretty but be warned you're in the bosom of the Canadian Shield so there are 2 hills and because its out and back there's 4 hills. Fun race and good food afterward. If you're looking for a Feb race it's grace!
