Was the second try-a-tri for my daughter and I - both times we have done the Grimsby event. It is one of the best organized events we have attended and all of the volunteers certainly know what they are doing. The swim is great as it hugs the shoreline, the water is relatively clear and weed free. The bike course was different this year a straight and relatively flat out and back. The run is not as level but still a nice out and back to a woodlot. The free food after the event is top notch - pulled pork sandwiches along with some good giveaways. The only thing i wish they added to this race was a finishers medal as for many doing the try-a-tri it is a first and it would be nice to have a memento from the day aside from the tech shirt.

Did the try a tri. It was well organized and the course was nice and flat. The swim was a point to point, so no turns. But it made it difficult to spot (did not help that my goggles fogged up), we swam between the shore and some bouys about 50ft out. Bike was good bit windy, run was good. The trail part approx 300m was freshly laid with wood chips, so made grip a bit slippery. Overall, good race, would do it again.

Love this race. Great organization, great course (including killer hill) and great community support. I always recommend this race to friends thinking of trying the sport, especially those not too confident in swimming as the try a tri course is in shallow enough water that you can stand up if you get in trouble close to the shore.
