This was the second year we participated in this event. My kids and I ran the 5K team race. We have enjoyed this race both times. It is not the most difficult of obstacle/mud races but it is doable for most. As mentioned they added a waterslide this year which was a hit with the kids but they removed the tires. I really do enjoy this race but I would recommend a few changes for future years to make the event a little more enjoyable for all and just a little more challenging.

1. Stagger the starting times even more between the events. Many areas of the course are not conducive to passing and because the events consist of people with a wide range of abilities the groups start overlapping. The biggest back up both years was right after the first river crossing. the path on the other side gets so muddy that it is very difficult to get up the hill. When we arrived at this point there must have been 50 to 100 people trying to get up the hill and they were barely moving.

2. Do the awards ceremonies throughout the day as events finish. In both years hardly any one stayed for the awards ceremony as they were done several hours after some of the races had concluded.

3. Add a few more obstacles to break up the long run portions.

4. Make the event pictures free again. One of the things I loved about this race in 2012 was that you posted the photos online and they could be downloaded free of charge. Not in 2013.

This was my second year running the Mud Run 5K and I have ran it with my daughter both years. Yes its a very easy race but so much fun. This year they added a water slide down a big hill which was fun. The mud pit is also always fun to jump in and then watch the other runners go through. I will be back next year! Only complaint this year was there was a delay in the start and we waited a long time, unacceptable. There is a set start time, if a bus of runners aren't there too bad, start anyway. I got up very early to get there with plenty of time, I do not want to wait more!

This is the 4th year I have been at the mudrun.....I ran year 1 and this year, and was pregnant both other years....I had a lot of fun each year. It is great fun if you are of a non-competitive mindset...we brought along a camera and took candid shots during the race! Our group has grown each year and I would definitely do it again.

First time doing the 5k Team Mudrun...I wasn't too impressed with the Obstacles...I thought we would have some very challenging ones along the way but we ran for almost 4k before we hit an "obstacle"...but the rope/hill climb was pretty good....there was only 1 water station (they said there would be 3) BUT the mud pit was a hoot....I would probably do this one again just because it was a lot of fun.

I ran in the very first edition of this race, it was brutal. Me and a friend were in first place, poor markings resulted in us going way off course....and I heard this happens every year at this event! Plus there was hardly any water or sport drink on course, and it was middle of summer....and very little mud actually although it appears this has been improved....
