I registered for this race when it was advertised and being run by Mammoth Marathons. The finish time advertised was "when you finish." Then it was taken over and changed eventually to 6hrs. We slower runners were treated rudely by the new race director when we asked questions and complained about this. I finally told myself I shouldn't expect anything more from race thieves.
Many other racers I talked to commented to me that they were also treated rudely.
The volunteers all were AMAZING. Nice, helpful, encouraging, went out of their way, a great, great group of people at EVERY aid station. Thanks.
The guy in the van picking up the mile numbers was very, very nice. He did pick up mile numbers in front of me and I came in at 5:50. That didn't seem right.
At the start line, 4 potties for 180 people. Do the MATH. And the ridiculous comment a few minutes before the race started that "there were more bathrooms 3 miles down the road" was stupid. THIS WAS A RACE. We were all on time for your busses, you should have provided adequate restrooms. Many men used bushes.
The police help in crossing streets at the end was EXCELLENT. They were great. Thanks.
The course was not well marked at the end when those last 5 runners came in. It was very hard for me to tell where to even go. I would spot the cops and that is how I made my way in. A few signs or something would have been nice. If you don't pick up the runners you need to be a little more responsible for them. These slower runners are important too. We run a different race, we want to be faster, we are working on it, but it is an endurance race for us and we are physically and mentally tired.
The medal was very nice. Thanks.
I would not recommend this race.
I would not consider attending again and I will never attend a race put on by these directors.
