What I did not like:
They were supposed to start at 9:10 (10K) but it started at 9:00 so I missed the start by 7 minutes.
I delivered my chip but no one published my time
Great race. I didn't mind the hill at the end. Knowing the area I knew what to expect. I also found the signage to be good especially considering we had a very clear map available at the race and via email outlining where the route went. I wonder about the gun vs chip time on the results page, they are the same. I noticed when I finished that the time on the clock is the time that is listed on the results page, so that isn't actually the chip time that is listed as such on the results page then. I would really like to see the chip time for the race. Other than that I really love this race series, super well done. Thank you!
Fantastic, scenic route! Loved the challenge of the hills at the end. I particularly enjoyed the many added water stations. Thank-you!
One improvement - please, please improve the results page! If you are going to post the age of only a few people on the results page - well, that isn't right. You either post everyone's age or you don't post ages at all... Thanks.....
A very well executed race. Good price, chip timer, nice staff/volunteers, nice course, 3 distance options, good email communications, posted results, posted photos, prize draws, enough water stations, and bananas! I hope MEC keeps these races up in the future and doesn't change much either.
Thanks so much MEC for another GREAT race! BEAUTIFUL course; well-organized, smiling MEC staff everywhere - a fantastic atmosphere! Not Swartezenegger, but ... I'll be BAAACK!
Great race and a great location for a run. Well organized and LaSalle Park was a great place for start and finish.
Wish I had know about the 2.5km of hills at the end. Lol but they sure made it a challenge. It was my first actual race so I was nervous but it was a great atmosphere.
What else can be said apart from, an amazing race series, truly a brilliant addition to the race calendar. From the sign up process, to the updates pre-race day, the enthusiastic and friendly MEC team and the post race email and pictures, there's not a bad word to be said. The extremely low race fee is a welcome addition, and the top finisher medals are an excellent incentive to push that little bit harder. Overall I'm a massive fan of this series and very much hoping it continues for many years. The only, and I do mean the only small things that could maybe be tweaked is the course markings. At some points they can be a little sparse and I've heard once or twice of a runner missing a turn etc due to limited signage, and maybe just a slightly bigger selection of post race food. Bananas are great but, if you don't like bananas like myself water alone just doesn't quite do it sometimes. This is being greedy I know but, if there was an opportunity to add a few more races to the series I for 1 would be very glad to see that happen and if at all possible the addition of maybe a Trail series come the fall, would also be greatly received. Top marks ladies and gents, please keep up the mighty fine work, your doing a bloody cracking job and it's very much appreciated.
Fantastic race. Well organized and well mapped out. I really didn't like that hill RIGHT before the finish line. It blew my target run time right out of the water.
