This is my second year running the 7km.

What a fantastic race. Well organized, very technical and challenging trail and wonderful organizers and volunteers.

Will be back next year, and I recommend this race to anyone looking for a challenging trail race.

I did the 34k distance and it was a fabulous race. It is a very challenging course with lots of elevation changes as it is run mostly along the edge of the Niagara escarpment at the Crawford Lake conservation area in Milton. The paths are often narrow and mostly uneven. Much of it is run on rocky terrain. And all of it is under the canopy of trees. There are no roads to cross or traffic to worry about. You may encounter a few hikers with their dogs along the way. The event starts out early (7:30 AM) but be prepared to run for an average of about 4 hours. It can be very humid and sticky but the shade makes it bearable. The scenery is just breathtaking though!

The race was very well organized. It is chip-timed. You get a t-shirt with registration and a cool finisher's medal upon completion. The aid stations are well stocked with plenty of water, energy drinks, soft drinks, cookies, potato chips, and trail mix. There are 4 of them fairly evenly spaced throughout the course with one of them being at the start/finish line which you pass by 3 times if you're doing the 34k race. The volunteers are wonderful and really offer plenty of encouragement along the way. The trails are well marked with signs and arrows indicating which way to go at all intersections and yellow tape blocking off the other directions. It's difficult to get lost. In any case, I would recommend looking at the maps beforehand to have a general idea of where you will be running. There are no distance markers but each loop of the circuit is something like 11.3 km long.
After the race there are pork sandwiches (vegetarian options were also available), plenty of fruits, and yogurt. There was parking space near the start line. I would suggest arriving early and carpooling if possible.

Altogether a wonderful experience!

I did the the 50k here last year. It truly is a beautiful route through the Bruce however the course is not well marked which led to people getting lost. That is a part of trail running however on a hot day in August you don't want to be out there longer than need be
