The roads were snowy and slippery but I didn't let that stop me, since I knew this was very likely for a winter race.

It was great that there was an indoor space to not only pickup your race kit at but hangout in as well before the race started so you could stay warm. The racekit wasn't huge but had a heat pack which was AMAZING! :)

I would not run this race again. It was very disorganized. The race kit was poor- a “free” facial and a 14 day gym membership? What guy wants a free facial. And- since we are all runners- chances are we already work out somewhere. The metals were nice if you could get one. The shirts were made of a non-breathing fabric. The venue was confusing- no one knew where the washrooms were. The post-race food was terrible. Hard crust with some hard cheese on it. Couples were told they had to run tied together. This made running for everyone hazardous with the slippery conditions. The route was dull, and a good portion of it was on the service road of the QEW. Mmmm- I love breathing in fumes from all of the cars as I run. No thank you. I will save my money for a better organized event.

Wow….what a disappointment. VR pro really needs to get their act together. Just a humble suggestion stop advertising a technical T-shirt. You are wasting your money and frankly I find it insulting that you try to pass those garbage shirts off on us as a bonus. My apologies if that is harsh but they are useless. At least a cheap cotton shirt I could use as a rag the shirts you distribute dissolve in water. I think we’re done with VRpro, email us if you kick it up a couple notches.

This race was very nice! My boyfriend and I had a great time. Despite other reviews we thought it was well organized! I think the people who write such terrible reviews have nothing better to do than complain about everything... Do you know how much time and effort goes into executing an event ? And for everything to run smoothly? This run is in feb so , duh, it's winter and conditions will be... Winter road running.! We will be back next year! And thank you for letting us use the gym facilities and the free massages after :) well done!

I ran this race yesterday and loved it. i am enjoying my hot pack right now. i had a pb. imagine that on those roads yesterday, loved the flowers at the finish line, had great medical assistance from the 8 st john ambulance at the finish. i am so glad i got the hot pack for the hot woman i am. nothing to complain about here. it was so amazing watching a proposal at the finish line. following my great race , I had pizza, massage, prizes, and then worked out and went swimming and for a massage. I will be back every year and love this race. thank you vrpro

This was my second year running this race. There were no major differences between the 2014 and 2013 race. The race stayed consistent. Not a scenic route, but there are not many choices for races in February.

The race kit was just a hot pack, a running magazine and a clif protein bar. Not much, BUT the medal made the race worth it. There was also a flower given at the end of the race for the ladies. The age category prizes are nice (although I would have personally preferred another medal), which included dinner for two and a coupon for running shoes.

I have run quite a few races and I can honestly say that the race medal for this run is of high quality. That alone makes the run worth it. The volunteers were great and the massages before the race was a nice touch.

Even though I am not highly rating this race, I will likely return next year. Hopefully the medal will be just as great next year as it has been for the past 2 years.

I ran this race as a single in 2013 and with my husband as a couple in 2014. The course is extremely accurate, not the most scenic. Well organized, beautiful medals (seriously, I have run well over 50 races and the heart medal for this race is my absolute favourite!). The tshirts are not awesome, but doesn't everyone have enough shirts already? Everyone received a flower, the AG prizes are generous, and I also got a free VERY thorough massage that was a good 20 minutes.

I ran this race as a single. No advance warning was given to members of Cedar Springs that their club was going to be overtaken by runners- and they were very upset that the parking lot and road were cut off prior to the race. There were no signs indicating where the restrooms were, and when they were found- the toilets were in poor working order. The race route was fair- except for running on the service road beside the QEW- breathing in car fumes. The pizza that was served after was disgusting: cheese on a flat tasting crust. Mine went in the garbage after one bite. I did manage to get a metal- which I was happy was actually decent (not like that from another event from this organizer where the "metal" was a cheap piece of wood with glitter glued to it). I did read that couples were to get one metal each, and singles were to get a metal apiece- that was in the letters that went out prior to the race. I did not use any of the coupons in the race kit- even though I live locally. Everything went in the recycling bin. The shirt was unisex S/M and L/XL of a cheap quality. This was not an exciting run, with a bad shirt, bad goodie bag and disgusting after race food. It is not on my list to run again.

The race was "ok". Alot of issues, which have all been mentioned (missing medals, missing ribbons, hit and miss organization, etc.) With regard to the "loot bags": it seems alot of emphasis was put on the $75 facial as the big payoff. Seeing as half the runners were men, and half the men were probably not interested in a facial, and people travelled to the area from all over the province, I am not sure how many appointments will be made to utilize the certificate. Same could be said for the 14 day trial membership (very location dependant).

The route was a big square, was well marked, and flat. No issues with the run itself - just the stuff around it (and opposed to other reviewers, I felt the pizza they offered was subpar)

All in all it wasn't bad...just lacking compared to my one other race I did this year (Toronto Midnight NYE run).

This is the first year the Valentines Run was to give medals to each team participating. Before this year medals were only given to age category winners. Due to a shipping issue the supplier in California did not ship all the medals, which caused a shortage. The supplier is shipping them out immediately and all medals will be sent to runners that did not receive them. Every runner also received flowers (whether single or couple).

The race kits had a $75 facial from Advanced Rejuvenation as well as a 14 day trial at Cedar Springs. Each participant received a Technical t-shirt. As well, we had a great venue that offered up their swimming pool, showers and hot tubs.

First race and had a great time!

My husband and I signed up to run this as our first 5k ever. We finished early in the pack so got a medal without issues. We only wanted one medal anyways (as we were running together) so didn't try for two. We felt it was well organized (nothing to compare it to, of course) - we picked up our race kit the day before and they gave us the ribbon for tying ourselves then, told us when to come to pick up our chip for timing (9am the morning of the race). I can understand how it would have been disappointing for those who finished and were not given a medal, so I do sympathize. The pizza afterwards was great, drink selection was alright (juices, water, coffee) but I was wishing there was tea as I am not a coffee drinker! Prizes were OK, we were a bit bummed they didn't announce third place as we came third for our age group LOL but that's OK. Overall it was a great experience for our first race. The route itself was well marked, the water station was fine, volunteers very kind and helpful. I'd definitely run it again!

Went home with nothing to show....

I did not sign up for the race right away, as it did not state there would be a medal for singles, it only mentioned couples medals (please note,I have been burned by this race organizer (vrpro) before by a loop hole). Anyways an email came out a few days before that did state that singles would get a medal for finishing, so woo hoo, I have signed up to run my first race (I have only walked in the past) and there was no medals left at the finish line. Event organizers claimed to have left them at home, gave extras to couples, were in a car that broke down. Needless to say, it is now 7 hrs after race time and the medals have not been found Please do your self a favour and sign up for a better organized event. Don't go home disappointed

I was disappinted as well.... nowhere in the pre-race info did it say couples had to be tether together for the run or that there was only going to be 1 medal per couple.. pre race I found everyone to be disorganized and there was a very large lack of communication between volunteers. Also when we crossed the finish line they had run out of medals and asked that if any couples had gotten 2 medals to hand one back... over all not worth at all the price of the registration and will not be attending future events either

We arrived to get our ribbon we were supposed attach to ourselves being a couple. They had run out of ribbon and it was a half hour before the race. When we finished the run (a nice route, relatively flat and fast) we crossed the finish line and they had run out of metals. It was supposed to be one metal per couple but after in the club, they were asking couples that recieved two metals to return one. They were unorganized and the race kits had nothing worth mentioning because there was basically nothing in them. I won't do the run again.

how about some prerace feedback. I wont be running because of the major differences in registration fees
for a single vs a couple . I suppose I could try to grab some unsuspecting male to team up with!!!!....
