The Resolution Run is organized by the Running Room, throughout Canada, as a end of the year event to get walkers and runners out on a measured course. I do this to get my friends and family out for the least competitive run of the year. Good fun. No pressure. Jacket is nice for some of the group (not for me, those unisex jackets never quite work for me). A couple of people in our group won mitts. We all went for brunch after the run in Liberty Village.

Kit pick up was fast. The race kit included the bib and the jacket, plus a couple of flyers for upcoming races, but no other swag and no food.

There is no chip timing, medal, or water stations for this race - it is strictly a rather informal fun run.

On the down side, parking at Exhibition Place was expensive ($10 on a Sunday morning). On the up side, the bathrooms, bag check, food station and large waiting area were all indoors at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, and the start/finish line was right outside the door.

The post-race food was water, bananas, Tim Horton's hot chocolate and cookies. There was a random prize draw afterward where you deposited your bag check tag into a box, and the MC drew from it. There were about 10 prizes, all Brooks mittens in either yellow or pink.

Great first race. The course was clearly marked with no snow or ice.

I actually liked the jacket but the pocket zippers both broke on my way to the race. I ended up having to carry some of my things in my hands during the race so that they wouldn't fall out of the open pockets. Sounds like this has been a problem in previous years as well, hopefully someone will look into it. Only complaint about what was otherwise a fun event.

Having started running in October this was the first ever race of any kind I had run and I found it pretty good. The course was clearly marked and out of the way of traffic and clear of snow so kudos to the crew who kept it clear. I would have liked some sort of "official" timing since I had to keep track of my time in my head and do the math(I actually crossed the start line almost 3 minutes after the gun due to the crowd funneling through the tiny little start gate).

The jacket is great (I've been wearing it all winter and into the spring) although the plastic zippers in the pockets failed within a few weeks. As a newbie runner the swag from races is becoming an incentive since some of it is not cheap.

I ran the 2012 race on Sunday December 30th. It was a fun event and a great way to get in the groove of running for 2013. Although the venue was quiet (not too many cheering sections due to the cold) a good thing was that my husband and elderly mum-in-law could park and wait in a nice warm car and watch from the sidelines. (not an option at other races)

The race jacket was a great perk - worn it twice already, and the food at the end was good (bananas, cookies, water). The only downside was the long lines for coffee and hot chocolate post race. Will run a faster time next year so I don't have to wait.

I love the jacket, except the lime green one, that glows in teh dark..wait that is a good thing.
But the venue kinda sucks; on the other hand, there are no screaming torontorians bitching about closed roads.
