Good kit, good organization. Didn't realize it was partly a trail run, which in costume, made things far more difficult. Perhaps my fault, but I saw no mention of the trail on the webpage. Had I known, I would have dressed differently, and run my first two kilometers differently. Great finishers medal.
Overall, a laid back race with a nice community feel. People were dressed up in their halloween costumes and there were lots of kids participating in the race as well.
Race kit included candy (since it was halloween themed), long-sleeve t-shirt (appropriate for the fall), a fluorescent arm band for your phone and water.
The course was in the suburbs and in a forested area, which included hills. Because there was rain the day before and the morning of the race, the trail was very slippery.
Post-race included more candy, granola bars, gatorade and chili! The medal was very nice.
I would do this race again. It was a refreshing change of atmosphere from how overly competitive other races and runners can be. Very well organized.
Great Race! New course this year and it's a hybrid road / trail combo! All kinds of costumes, and running a trail in the fall is awesome. Nicely done!
This was the 3rd year running the 5K with my daughter. Always fun to dress up and run, lots of Halloween spirit. Post race food and entertainment inside the school was nice!
I have ran this race the last 2 years with my daughter. We ran the 5K both years. The 10K is a double loop and I really dislike double loops so this will always be a 5K race for me. The course is challenging with the big hill (hence the name of the race) but its a great local race with alot of runners in costume to get into the Halloween spirit!
Great race in a community I had never been to before - Bolton. Lots of runners dressed up Halloween style and a pretty challenging 5K loop course (which I had to run twice because I was doing the 10K!). Downhill at the start but then up Bolton Hill and by cemetery (fitting nicely with the Halloween theme!) for well over a kilometer putting paid to any PBs on this course.
Well organized at the start, lots of volunteers and chili for all.
