My 58th Marathon!
If you are a true marathoner in Southern Ontario I think you should do a race a year in Ohio. This was my fifth in as many years. I have Xenia, Dayton, Toledo and Cleveland. It is a great running state with lots of races year round you can get to in a tank of gas. I did Akron for the first time. It is a very, hilly, challenging course. The race is well organized with signs alerting runners for heat levels throughout the course. The city itself is great with cheap parking rates. I paid 85 cents all weekend for parking. The race provides marathoners with free running jackets are socks and there is lots of food at the finish line for slower runners. The parking is free the day of the race! The only complaint was the long time to get the shuttle back to the hotel but the free showers at the Y were a plus. A great race and well worth the drive to the city.

i ran the half marthon in akron and i felt the esperience was nice. the track was challenging and the experience was lovely. the set up was nice. esy access and customer friendly.
Very good race. Mile 6-8 needs more spectators. Very tough last mile, but they are changing this to be flatter in 2012. Overall there is a lot of good competition and it is an enjoyable race. The worst part is the finish at Aero stadium it is hard to move around with all of the runners in the stadium.
