I love putting my kids in the kids challenge. Afterwards they can hit the splash pad. The roller-coaster nature of the course is a lot of fun.
I loved the course! Tons of single track with lots of twists and turns. The wave starts helped with congestion in the trails. I wasn't able to stick around for prizing this race, but the post-race snacks were good as always and there was plenty of parking for the runners. Albion is a great venue for races!

I did this race way back before there were computers......
Not really, but it's a terrific venue and VERY HILLY so be ware, and bring your bike if you can to enjoy some off-road cycling after or hit the nearby roads that are traffic free (mostly).
I ran this race a couple of years ago, and I had a lot of fun. I was just starting to trail run, and this course ended up bring great. The event also had some great tents, food, and people.
The trail has a lot of single track which is good and bad. The second half of the race I was open to run and set a good pace for myself. The problem was the first section.
After the first 100m or so I had to walk as an obviously over weight, out of shape man sprinted to the front of our group and then couldn't keep going. As we were all now on the thin single track, we had to walk by him as he stood there catching his breath. This easily added a few minutes to my time. I just competed in an obstacle race, and Albion is still the place where I had the most funneling and congestion.
I would also love to see more km markers. I came around a turn at the end not knowing how far to go only to see the finish line with lots of juice left.
All in all though, it was a great time, so don't take my complaining as anything other than constructive criticism. I still want to go again this year!
