The Mad Dog Scramble: The Race That Bites Back
Mad Dog Scramble 2008 Mad Dog Scramble Recap - 2008

The Mad Dog Scramble turned out to be another beautiful romp in the park for all the two-legged creatures who came to run the trails of Sunnybrook, Wilket Creek and Serena Gundy parks. The rain held off and the temperature was very pleasant.

The organization and planning came together as over 100 runners went searching for the trail set out by Bill James and Nick Roberts. Bill James led a group out on Saturday for final marking of the course (Elaine Lavallee, John Petrosoniak and Peter Kain) for five hours. Bill also designed the T-Shirts and worked with Brian Frank at Just Imagine Graphics to make sure they were printed on time. Course Marshals gave directions, assisted and encouraged the runners to climb the x#2!** hills or make it through one of the creek and river crossings. With some 60 first time participants, but also many veterans, it was a great day and much fun had by all. And that included the little runners in the Puppy Scramble. Thanks to Elaine Lavallee for organizing that for future Mad Doggers.

I want to thank all the runners for coming out and supporting this quirky but enjoyable race, as well as all of the many volunteers who helped. Finally, thanks to the generous donors of the many prizes awarded at the short ceremony held after the race. The list of volunteers is set out below as are those who generously donated prizes. Once again, thanks to all for making this such a successful event.

If you enjoyed yourself, or think we can improve in any way, any comments or suggestions are always welcome.
