Starting this summer, the makers of vitamins and dietary supplements will have to do something they've never done before: verify that what they sell is real.

As I begin this entry, I am sitting inside our RV (named Bert) in the middle of the
Anza Borrego Desert, waiting for our rider (currently David Houghton) to pass us by.
When he does, we will officially be 82.2 miles into our race. By the time this will
be posted and finished, however, we will be in Hope, Arizona.
