Marathon world record-holder returns after more than two years
New York, October 3, 2007—After more than two years away from the marathon, world record-holder Paula Radcliffe of Great Britain will return at the ING New York City Marathon 2007 on Sunday, November 4.

Berlin, Germany - Haile Gebrselassie finally fulfilled the first one of his two big marathon dreams: The 34-year-old Ethiopian broke the World record at the real,- Berlin-Marathon, clocking 2:04:26. It was Paul Tergat (Kenya) who had run 2:04:55 in 2003 in Berlin.

Kenya's John Kelai shattered a 31-year-old record for the marathon in Canada yesterday, besting more than 2,000 runners in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon with a time of two hours nine minutes and 30 seconds.
The old record of 2:09:55 was set at the Montreal Summer Olympic Games in 1976 by East Germany's Waldemar Cierpinski.

BEIJING, China – Simon Whitfield finished a Canadian-best fifth place at today's Beijing BG Triathlon World Cup, the official test event for next summer's Olympic Games. Brent McMahon, also of Victoria, BC, was the second Canadian across the line, finishing 20th, while Kyle Jones came in 27th place.

OSAKA, Japan - (September 2, 2007) - Catherine Ndereba became the first woman to ever win a second IAAF World Championship Marathon when she pulled away from China's Chunxiu Zhou in the closing two kilometers of the race, held on the course of the Osaka Marathon on a hot, humid Sunday morning.
