 Great Britain’s Alistair Brownlee followed up his season opening victory in Madrid to claim a second straight Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship Series win in Washington to put him top of the rankings three races in to the eight race series.

North Little Rock, AR (June 20, 2009) - For the first time in 2009 a pair of Americans took the top honors at an XTERRA Cup Championship race as Josiah Middaugh from Vail, Colorado and Shonny Vanlandingham from Durango, Colorado won the men's and women's pro titles on a sweltering hot day at the XTERRA South Central Cup in the Heart of Arkansas.

 CHICAGO, IL (June 17, 2009) þu U.S. Olympian Deena Kastor today announced that she will compete in the 2009 Bank of America Chicago Marathon, her first appearance in the distance since injury forced her to withdraw in the third mile of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Marathon. A bronze medalist in the 2004 Athens Olympic Marathon, Kastor has her eyes set on redemption with a strong performance in the Oct. 11 race and a medal in the 2012 London Olympic Marathon.

 CALGARY, June 15 /CNW/ - The 36 Sears National Kids Cancer Ride cyclists departed from Vancouver June 13 and arrived in Calgary today at Sears Marlborough Mall, arriving at their final destination, Halifax on June 24. The Sears Ride across Canada is the world's longest charitable cycling event on behalf of childhood cancer. When the cyclists arrive in Halifax, they will have covered over 7,000 km.

 Rikki Hacker ran all 26.2 miles of the Chamber Country Classic faster than anyone else Saturday ... but he didn't win.
That's because Hacker signed up for the half marathon at the seventh annual Maryville Chamber event.
