Some wait for Santa. Others for Elijah. And still others for Krüüdknæpper, the Festive Elf of Iceland.
But in Yorkville, they wait for pasty-white “athletes” in nothing but flimsy red lycra.
On Saturday, December 9th 2006, the Toronto Santa Speedo Run will once again be on display, giving the Yorkville area a little unexpected fashion show.

What originally started as a whimsical idea conjured up in a mild fit of dementia in 2005 ended up raising over $7100 for the Toys and Games fund at Sick Kids. For those new to the event, it’s a fun run with the only objective being to raise as much money as possible, while making complete and utter spectacles of ourselves.
Since idiocy loves company, we’d love to have you with us. The proceeds of the run will be going to the “Toys and Games Fund” at the Hospital for Sick Children, to make any time spent there just a little more enjoyable.
We ask participants to raise at least $50 for the hospital; failing that, those wishing to participate will be asked to pay a $25 entry fee.
