InternationalWe've lost another good runner overseas....

That would be Jenn second from the left, nothing like a hard-core athlete who also knows how to celebrate a successful race!
hi everyone,

i hope this email finds you all doing well!

for those of you who don't know, i've moved house and am living
over in jolly ol' england, doing my master's in biotechnological
law and ethics at the university of sheffield. i've been here just
over 2 weeks and am loving it. it's even been sunny! oh, and i've
competed in a fell race. for those of you don't know, a fell race
is a race up hill on jagged rocks and then back down again. great
fun and great views!

however, it's been said that i've even started to say some things
with a very british tone! i can't help it, no one understands my
accent! someone guessed me to be irish the other night. no
kidding. but no worries, my teeth are all still there, relatively
straight and white.

it's about 12:41am and i've just finished packing for my impending
trip to korea. i have the awesome opportunity to compete at the
iau world 100km cup taking place this sun, oct 8, in misari south
korea.

i am being picked up in about 45 minutes to go to the station. i
have to catch the bus to go to manchester to catch my 6:35am
flight. there's really no other way :( first i fly to paris and
then to seoul. this year, i will definitely be travelling alone as
there are no other canadian athletes leaving from england. but at
least my flight is shorter. the athletes are staying in the olympic
village built during the seoul olympics so it should be very
interesting.

besides being nervous, i feel relatively prepared this year. last
year in japan, i had just come off an injury and was not really
sure of myself in terms of fitness and preparation. i hope for
better things this year. to check out last year's event go to

once again, a big thank you goes out to everyone who made this trip
possible for me. there were so many people who helped with my
training, racing, living arrangements, athletic therapy, fund
raising, and just general support, even in other aspects of my
life. i know that i would not be here without you! you are all
amazing!

with luck, i will be able to send out a daily report letting you
know how i'm getting on. if not, i will send the reports when i
return home. i never know what accomodations and such will be
until i actually get there.

jenn

Live each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink,
taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influences of each.
