 Victoria's Melanie McQuaid has won the women's portion of the Nissan Xterra World Championships triathlon in Maui.
McQuaid, a five-year Xterra veteran, finished in three hours seven minutes 16 seconds Sunday for her second Maui Xterra win in three years. Switzerland's Sibylle Matter followed about 45 seconds later.
Nicolas LeBrun of France won the men's race in 2:38:19. LeBrun, 32, also won the Xterra races in Austria and Germany this year.
Runner-up Eneko Llanos of Spain finished some three minutes after LeBrun.
McQuaid and LeBrun each won $25,000 US in prize money.
