Running in BOSTON but not Racing:2 hours to race time
When you arrive at the finish line in Boston marathon morning, one cannot help but get caught up in the excitment. The running Boom must be alive and well. Then a cab driver reminds you of the glory days of American running, the days of Bill Rodgers and Alberto Salazar. I think of Jacqueline Gareau, Tom Longboat and John C. Miles. I feel busted when I ask, "who was Gerard Cote, James Coffey and Fred Cameron?" Canadians have won the Boston Marathon 17 times!!!! The echoes of my previous marathons begin to plant thoughts and ideas of future marathons and a return to Boston to run in the Race. To those who qualified and ran Boston, I salute you!
